Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects need good free pictures, and the easiest way to get them is to teach Wikipedians how to create quality photographs. One of the best ways to increase the quality of their work is to help them pass experience to each other at a personal meeting.
Drawing on experience from the past, we intend to organize two weekend workshops for approximately ten Wikipedia photographers, during which they will learn make better photography, share their experience and knowledge and also discuss tips for future work.
Improving the quality of Wikimedia Commons photographs. Bringing more trust among the photographers by making them get to know each other.
Approving tre grant for our "Data Projector" project would be helpful for presentation of photographs.
Fit to strategy
This project will raise quality of free photographic content contributed by Czech Wikipedians into Wikimedia projects.
We hope that experience from this workshop will bring more substance to recent discussions about the quality and encyclopedic value of photographs taken by Czech Wikipedians.
Measures of success
Each participant will take quality photographs of at least three previously poorly covered objects that he/she chooses during the workshop. These photos will be obviously available for any Wikimedia project.
