Project scope and activities[edit]

This section describes what will happen if this project is funded. Who will do what, and when?

List of activities
Tagalog Wikipedia activities
Tagalog Wikipedia, the first Philippine language Wikipedia will celebrate its 10th year on December 1, 2013. There will be year-long activities to commemorate its anniversary in order to revitalize the project. The chapter will also capitalize on WMF's New Global South Strategy which identifies Tagalog alongside English and Cebuano as among its Focus Languages in the Philippines.
Tipon! Ahon!
A series of meetings, discussions, workshops in order to improve Tagalog Wikipedia, resolve long standing disputes among editors that includes translation issues and especially in the user interface, naming conventions and orthography guidelines, in the light of the new orthography guidelines released by the Commission on the Filipino Language. This will also be a community-building activity for Tagalog Wikipedians, allowing them to meet like-minded individuals.
Edit-a-thons to improve the quality of the Tagalog Wikipedia through a targeted expansion of articles scattered throughout the project, encouraging both new Wikipedians and veteran members of the community to contribute to this effort.
Expeditions to different towns in the Katagalugan (Tagalog-speaking regions of the Philippines) outside Manila. These expeditions will focus on improving content on these towns through research, outreach and, later, a half-day edit-a-thon.
