Part 1 Understanding your work[edit]

1. Briefly describe how your proposed activities and strategies were implemented

First of all we will like to start by bringing the changes we have towards our proposed activities. This is because we faced a problem while implementing the proposal. We intent to focus this whole project to Arewa House Library and the library is university based meaning it belongs to Ahmadu bello university but its outside the university in kaduna state. So while during this project the university are on strike and also the strike affect the library and its workers. So as the time of this grant and even now university are on strike and no any official date to resume. So with this new development we change to kaduna state own library. And focus their. Also we have a plan that when ever they resume from the strike we will go their and likely train them as the proposal requires.

After that, The proposal we're implemented as planned. Where we organized a training workshops and online trainings that produce more than 150 articles and also refrence more than 200 articles. We also tries as much possible to give women special consideration ranging from the trainings both online and offline and also while referencing them on wiki. We reference numbers of women article in other to bridge gender gap as we proposed in the grant. We are currently having a discussion and rooms where open for the newbies to ask questions and share experience.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

Yes the strategies all worked more especially the idea of retaining the new editors via WhatsApp. And Also the physical trainings give rooms to better explanation and demonstration while also the online trainings give room to people for a distance to attain the program.

I think the 3 main strategies really worked and are efficient.

3. Please use this space to upload media and other files that help tell your story and impact.

2.

4. To what extent do you agree with the following statements regarding the work carried out with the support of this Fund? You can choose “not applicable” if your work does not relate to these goals.

Our efforts during the Fund period have helped to...
A. Bring in participants from underrepresented groups Agree
B. Create a more inclusive and connected culture in our community Strongly agree
C. Develop content about underrepresented topics/groups Strongly agree
D. Develop content from underrepresented perspectives Strongly agree
E. Encourage the retention of editors Strongly agree
F. Encourage the retention of organizers Strongly agree

5. Is there anything else you would like to share about how your efforts helped to bring in participants and/or build out content, particularly for underrepresented groups?

I think we made an effort seeing that the official library we want to use we're close because of national strike by the university. That did not stop us we make an effort to look for other alternative which we happens to use the state library. And it worked and we did find that. We also try to bring university students. Along in other to bring participants and people from underrepresented group.

Part 2: Your main learning[edit]

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

Our priorities we're library and we did that but with other libraries. We also learn that we can always do better by bringing in more students and also thinking outside the box.

And we couldn't use the Arewa house Library because of the strike but still we use another and that give us another experience of bringing students.

We also planned to revisit the Arewa house library for the event when ever they resume back to work.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

Yes many. When the university when on strike, we did not expect that particular library to be involve because its outside the sketch of the university that's one of the biggest surprise.

We also have an exciting surprised with the state library as they welcome the idea when we introduce it to them.

Also we were surprise by the student zeals even though they we're on strike.

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?

Yes with the experience and ideas we have now I think our new priorities will be students. University student more especially when it comes to referencing this is because they have the material needed at their lab. There have school library and also e library all at the school. We think with proper orientation the students while give a massive contributions towards editing and adding reliable references.

9. Documentation of resources: Use this space to upload any documents that would be useful to share with others (e.g. communications material, training material, presentations).
