Nous étions partis à l’idée de former les participants sur la photographie avant de les pousser à participer au concours, puis leur apprendre les notions de base dans la contribution sur Commons Wikimedia. Nous avons tenu des réunions de bureau pour organiser les événements avec toute l’équipe d'organisation.

Les professionnels de la photographie ont fait un travail énorme même sur les jugements des photos et nous nous sommes servis de nos canaux de communication pour communiquer avec les contributeurs et aussi d'autres pour la collaboration de l'équipe organisatrice locale.

Nous étions partis de la communication traditionnelle, de bouche à l'oreille, cette technique bien qu'ancienne mais fonctionne encore très efficacement, nous avions effectué quelques descentes sur terrain dans certains milieux pour sensibiliser, puis le partage des infos via nos canaux de diffusion du groupe d'utilisateur, enfin le relais à travers les médias.

Les objectifs assignés durant la préparation ont été atteints, parlant du contact avec les professionnels de la photographie. La participation aux ateliers a été aussi inclusive que possible en y associant différents groupes de différentes communautés et régions.
7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities?This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?
Le concours a malheureusement coïncidé avec un autre concours Wiki Loves Earth, beaucoup de participants se sont trompés d'adresse et ont soumis des photos de là ici et d'ici là-bas, ce qui a occasionné d’énormes manques en termes de contribution objective et la grande difficulté c'est qu'on était déjà presque hors-délai vu l’arrivée des fonds et nous avions connu un grand retard pour la tenue de nos activités, aussi, le souci qu'avaient les participants de constater la présence de la bannière indiquant que le concours avait déjà pris fin au niveau international ce qui a perturbé un peu l'implication des participants qui craignaient d'uploader leurs images.
