The contest began with an introductory session focused on using reliable resources, details about participation, and a Q&A for participants. This session received positive feedback and generated interest.

Running from September 1 to September 21, 2024, the contest achieved remarkable outcomes, adding three new reliable resource citations to Wikidata. Participants' engagement and clear guidance on sourcing were key to driving participation and achieving our goals. Additionally, efforts will continue to add bibliographic resources to Wikidata even after the contest ends. This ongoing commitment highlights the value of community involvement and resource sharing, contributing meaningfully to the overall knowledge base. The combination of informative sessions and active participation was crucial for the contest's success.

Part 2: Learning

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: 1. Increase the knowledge of Islamic scholars for the communities 2. Highlight the importance of the Islamic civilization for humanity. 3. Increase wikidata community by having more users to edit it. 4. Learn more about sustainability in the Wikimedia movement.

The contest significantly raised awareness of Arab culture and the contributions of Muslim scholars to civilization and humanity. From the introductory session to the conclusion, reliable sources and proper documentation in Wikidata allowed for broader access to knowledge.

Through this experience, we learned how effectively highlighting the achievements of Islamic scholars can foster appreciation for their impact and the importance of Islamic civilization. The increase in active contributors shows the potential for community growth, which is essential for Wikidata's ongoing success. Additionally, this project provided valuable insights into maintaining engagement within the Wikimedia movement.

It also successfully increased participation in Wikidata; out of the 26 users who took part, many continued editing after the contest, demonstrating the sustainability of the project.

Moving forward, we plan to leverage these learnings to develop initiatives that encourage participation, enhance knowledge sharing, and promote the sustainable growth of the Wikidata community.

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

The contest facilitated an increase in the number of resources gathered from participants and enhanced connections among them.

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)
