Part 1 Understanding your work[edit]

1. Briefly describe how your proposed activities and strategies were implemented

We engaged a group of 22 students to translate 53 profiles of mozambican municipal cities. We assigned two to three profiles for them to translate. Then they swapped for peer reviewing. Then they were send to lecturers of Emakhuwa who revised to evaluate and select those e had few mistakes to receive prize.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

The involvement of various authors (initial translation, peer reviewers, and editors) ensured that the text are correct.

These participants were responsible for inviting other people to join our event and share the translations as they were read in public.

Part 2: Your main learning[edit]

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

We learned that Many Makhuwa people would like to write in their language. When you teach them them the alphabet of Makhuwa language, they already have the skills to put together what are able to in speech with one or another spelling mistakes. However, complex sentences que include past perfect are very challenging.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities?This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

I learned that it takes long time to translate. Some article are longer than the others. For instances articles about main capital cities in Mozambique, (Maputo, Beira and Nampula) were so long. I had to reassign them for one students editor to work with.

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?

In the future, I will put the text in word before assigning to editors. That will prevent me from assigning editor more work than other.
