We managed to have 441 pictures, we initially planned to upload 1000 items on Wiki Commons but we ended up uploading only 411 pictures due to quality cheques we implemented during the uploading sessions, only the photos that meet the quality and are of high importance were uploaded.

Part 2: Learning
4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)
You can recall these learning questions below: I expect to have learned many skills as leader of Wiki Loves Africa initiative in the Wikimedia network. I expect to have extended my network. I expect to have achieved recruitment, training and team building of new editors in my local area, and intend to follow-up. I expect new content uploads on the theme "Africa Create" from my country.
As the leader of the Wiki Loves Africa initiative within the Wikimedia-Namibia, I have developed a wide range of leadership skills, particularly in the areas of recruitment, training, and team building of new editors in my local community.
I have also extended my professional network and collaborate with other contributors globally such as Rwanda, South Africa, Nigeria and Cote d'Ivoire for support during this project.
My efforts will focus on increasing local participation and contributing new content under different themes specifically from my country to raise awareness for women participation , climate change, and other pressing issues facing our country.
I will do many follow up sessions and actions to ensure that the new editors remain engaged and continue to contribute to this important project.
5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)
During the implementation of Wiki Loves Africa projects, some unexpected challenges arose. Running the project after Wiki Loves Folklore led to participant fatigue by the time we reached Wiki Loves Africa, which affected the number of picture entries we had initially targeted.
However, a positive outcome was the improvement in the quality of entries, as participants had a better grasp of the campaign theme this year compared to the previous one.
We also implemented quality control measures during the uploading sessions, ensuring only meaningful and high-quality photos were submitted.
On the downside, coordinating participants from different regions proved challenging, requiring many unplanned virtual meetings that increased data costs.
Additionally, organizing the logistics to send prizes to participants posed its own set of difficulties. From these experiences, I learned the importance of pacing projects and improving regional coordination to better support participants across various locations.
6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)
As a newly recognized community, we have been sharing what we have achieved in this project with other communities such as the French communities through a collaborative best practices webinar. Within the community, we also had some post campaign meetings to connect the pictures we just uploaded to their relevant articles or improve articles: https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/courses/Wikimedia_Community_User_Group_Namibia/Namibia_Heroes_Day_Edit-a-thon).
We are also going to share with the international community during Wiki Indaba 2024.
