Part 1 Understanding your work[edit]

1. Briefly describe how your proposed activities and strategies were implemented

First of all, we divided our tasks on two formats: Online and Offline co-ordination. The online calls and coordination is handled by Nirmal Dulal and the offline calls and coordination is executed by Nabin K. Sapkota. Under Online operation we approached numerous photographers and photography organizations for their contributions and support. Under offline operation we executed open call photo-walk and awareness sessions under stand alone and collaboration format.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

Well, with a theme of "Right person at right job" we're deployed professional photographers and photography organisations to lead our offline activities like Photography awareness session and technical prospective of photography with respect to our organisational themes and criteria . We believe this is something we've been practising to flourish our event strategy to achieve our goals.

3. Please use this space to upload media and other files that help tell your story and impact.

4. To what extent do you agree with the following statements regarding the work carried out with the support of this Fund? You can choose “not applicable” if your work does not relate to these goals.

Our efforts during the Fund period have helped to...
A. Bring in participants from underrepresented groups Agree
B. Create a more inclusive and connected culture in our community Agree
C. Develop content about underrepresented topics/groups Neither agree nor disagree
D. Develop content from underrepresented perspectives Strongly agree
E. Encourage the retention of editors Agree
F. Encourage the retention of organizers Agree

5. Is there anything else you would like to share about how your efforts helped to bring in participants and/or build out content, particularly for underrepresented groups?

Well, apart from other regular activities, awareness sessions somehow worked sensational to resolve the unanswered curiosities amongst participants during photo-walk along with attracting and considering underrepresented groups. Photo-walk with the bird specific photography groups in collaboration with Bird Conservation Nepal was the one we addressed and realised.

Part 2: Your main learning[edit]

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

Well, learning have always been a crucial part of every events, specially the mass events. So, something we overcame this year is a cross organisational collaborations with various field related organisations during photo-walks and awareness sessions. Afterwards, we do have hope and believe to continue such mutual ventures in future as well.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

As we've started awarding winners under different categories nationally and internationally we did got unexpected participation from photographers carrying different aspects of photography such as Macro, Wild, Birds and Landscape photographers. Although we believe we're still struggling to reach more specific photographers and photography groups to reach our targets.

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?

Well, as we always believe one of the crucial source of learn from part experiences, we did analysed our drawbacks to be overcome in future events to meet our goals such as:

  • more workshops
  • more diversified photo-walks
  • more number of collaborative organisations
  • improvements in lists and categories for event
