Part 1: Project and impact
[edit]1. Describe the implemented activities and results achieved. Additionally, share which approaches were most effective in supporting you to achieve the results. (required)
We organized the WLE contest in Italy, this year we had an increase in uploaded pictures (1466 in 2023 vs 2195 in 2024) and in participants (180 in 2023 vs 246 in 2024) and in new participants (Uploaders registered after competition start: 125 in 2023 vs 170 in 2024), this was partly due to the local competition in Puglia. The impact is diffucult to determine but there was a significant increase in local pictures upladed (54 picture in 2023 vs 786 in 2024)
2. Documentation of your impact. Please use space below to share links that help tell your story, impact, and evaluation. (required)

- Surveys and their results
- Infographics and sound files

The total impact of the local contest in Apulia is hard to determine but comparing the categories there was a significant increase in local pictures uploaded (54 picture in 2023 vs 786 in 2024)

Part 2: Learning
[edit]4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)
You can recall these learning questions below: In our opinion the most interesting part of this grant request is the regional support we thought to offer to local trusted and experienced volunteers, who asked us for support to organize a local contest in their region. We have agreed to support them with prizes, coverage of phototours and supporting a local award ceremony.
Even if we had one regional contest this happened without our support since the organizer was supported by the local chapter. The result of the local contest was 786 uploaded local pictures (compared with 54 of last year) so the idea to have local contests definitely works. We have to think about how to increase or incourage local events.
5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)
This year the shipment of prizes turned out to be a nightmare of delays, lost packages, wrong addresses and packages returned to sender. Next year we plan to have the prizes delivered direcly to the winners by the e-commerce companies.
6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)
We still have to find a way to increase the usage of the uploaded pictures and are thinking about a dedicated event, in the same time we are working to increase the number of quality and featured pictures.
Part 3: Metrics
