Au cours de la période couverte par ce rapport, nous avons mis en œuvre plusieurs activités clés dans le cadre de ce projet qui a abouti à l’initiative WikiForMotherTongue :
Nous avons organisé des ateliers d’édition collaboratifs sur Wikipédia, axés sur la documentation et la promotion des langues d'Afrique centrale, notamment le lingala, le kikongo et le tshiluba. En février, nous avons initié un concours pour célébrer la Journée internationale de la langue maternelle, le 21 février, soutenu par l'UNESCO. Ce concours visait à encourager les contributions et à accroître la visibilité des langues maternelles sur Wikipédia. Nous avons développé une page centrale sur Wikipédia pour regrouper les différents liens et informations relatives à nos événements et activités. Nous avons collaboré avec d'autres communautés africaines et avons accueilli de nouveaux collaborateurs tels qu’EduWiki Nigeria et Wikitongues, élargissant ainsi notre campagne pour la promotion et la visibilité de la langue maternelle.
D'ailleurs pour cela, l’association Wikitongues a sélectionné un membre de notre équipe pour un programme de bourse visant à revitaliser le lingala et le kikongo sur Wikipédia. Nos activités ont entraîné une augmentation significative du nombre de contributions sur Wikipédia en lingala, kikongo et tshiluba une wikipédia test depuis l'incubateur voire sur TranslateWiki. En outre, le soutien par le biais de la bourse de Wikitongues a permis de concentrer des efforts spécifiques sur la revitalisation du lingala et du kikongo et favorisé la création du site de notre association qui est en cours de construction ; et l’organisation de ce concours en lien avec des événements internationaux comme la Journée internationale de la langue maternelle a stimulé la participation et la création de contenu.

Ce que nous avons appris :
Nous avons découvert que pour la viabilité de ce projet car il est très réalisable dans le temps, d'impliquer les autorités garantes de la nation car une langue est le véhicule de la culture d'un peuple, la langue d'instruction n'est pas locale, alors nous devons inciter les politiques à opter pour l'introduction de nos langues dans l'enseignement, leur apprentissage en classe va favoriser ce sentiment d'appartenance à nos communautés, à renforcer les liens entre deux communautés partageant la même langue pour assurer la gestion efficace de notre savoir interne surtout pour faire comprendre aux autorités que si la rumba congolaise, le style musical, a été proclamée comme un patrimoine naturel par l'unesco en 2022 cela avait été une fierté pour notre pays et que c'est grâce à une de nos langues comme identité. Surtout cela va engendrer l'engagement de la population pour garantir un engagement mutuel. La participation active de toutes les parties prenantes va faciliter la résolution rapide de ce problème et la prise de décision collective.
