Part 2: Learning[edit]

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: 1. As a woman, I want to see if my effort can help bridge the gender gap by bringing more female participants from northern Nigeria as editors and volunteers to Wikimedia Projects.

2. I want to see if my role as organizer will trigger the interest of my fellow women in devoting themselves into the Wikimedia volunteer activities so as to become like me.
3. I want to know if I could create impact in the Wikimedia projects and in the lives of the participants involved.
4. I hope to learn what to do in my next project from the results of these learnings and the proposed activities.

1. Over 40 female participants participated in this event. Tbis therefore, justify the fact that the effort has helped in bringing in more female volunteers into the Wikimedia movement.

2. I got so many questions from some of the participants asking about how they could become like me to lead an event and this has helped in making them believe that they can do it just like the way I served as a role model for them now.
3. The event cut across four of the numerous Wikimedia projects, which literally means introducing the participants to digital skills and knowledge they were not aware of them before, as such that has really impacted their lives.
4. With the learnings from this event, I have realized what needs to be done in my future plan for another event.

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

No, except that I severely fall sick towards the end of the project period (during the reporting days) and this has affected my engagement with the participants during those days. But apart from that, in the case of the planned activities, everything goes as planned accordingly.

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)

Yes, we shared the results and celebrated our milestone together.
