Part 1 Understanding your work[edit]

1. Briefly describe how your proposed activities and strategies were implemented

As a result of the strike of Universities in Nigeria, this has caused us problems in managing the project, this is the reason why we have changed some strategies to manage the project. Among our strategies there are trips in school premises to create awareness, this did not happen in the way we planned but we reshaped how the trip will be. Although the ongoing strike did not prevent some lecturers from entering the office, we have received information that confirmed that there are lecturers who enter the office to carry out their duties, especially on Fridays when Friday prayer is held. We used this opportunity to raise awareness and see some of the lectures and discussed with them and introducd Wikimedia Foundation's Projects to the, we also shared flyers with them.

Our second strategy is two days workshop, This went easily, with the help of Two lectures and Deen faculty of Education and the President Student's Union Government we got the number of participants we conducted our Workshop. We found a hall near the University where we held a two-days workshop with them. We asked the participants to share our activities via their WhatsApp Group in order to reach out other students, this helped us to get more page views.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

Yes, Earlier before applying the proposal, we were discussing with two lectures and some students who had participated in my previous event on how to organise a Wikimedia event in their university. They are the ones who have helped us in managing the projects and all the changes in some strategies as a result of the Universities general strike in the country. We had the opportunity to create accounts for new editors during the workshop while some of the participants opened their accounts after the workshop. We got new editors and also met with existing Wikimedians.

Part 2: Your main learning[edit]

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

The main thing I want to learn from the project is, if the project Create awareness about Wikimedia to the target participants. I experienced that a lot of participants are doing research on Wikipedia but they don't know how to write Wikipedia, and some of them don't even know about the quality of Wikipedia Sources, the project has made many people aware of the quality of Wikipedia. And I understand that the project has trained new editors. I get messages from editors on how to learn how to do some things especially in Hausa Wikipedia.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

Positive things happen during the project's trip is how Dean Faculty of Education and his lectures accept us and discussed with us about Wikipedia and sister project. They asked us several questions about Wikimedia Foundation. And we didn't have any problem of gathering participants. From the negative thing that happened is the result of the strike all over the Nigerian Universities, that is why we did not get a hall in the school until we went outside and got a hall.

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?
