Part 1: Project and impact

[edit]

1. Describe the implemented activities and results achieved. Additionally, share which approaches were most effective in supporting you to achieve the results. (required)

First of all, I will like to say it's a wonderful experience given by the Wikimedia foundation to us. Working in bridging gender gap in the movement. Wikipedia need more women workshop has been a topic still in discussion in our community due to its impact and what it brings and the length we go to make sure it's a success and the collaboration we initiated in the campaign.

1.First of all, we collaboration with the Kaduna Wikimedians Network as their President is one of the key facilitators in the project. This helps us in bringing so many women on board to the project.

2. We organised a 2days workshop for the creation and translation of the women articles mostly arthelet instead of 3 including workshop for the awareness of women participation in the Wikimedia movement. This is due to the cut we experience during funding the project so we have to make an adjustment to make the funds suit the project capacity. This result in translating the whole 50 articles and more as stated in the project proposal and polishing more than 200 articles.

3. We organised 1 online workshop that includes an awareness for women participation in the movement and also a training workshop for the newbie in the movement on how to translate articles and the follow ups to make it Wikipedia standards and readable.

4. We organised a small impromptu Contest, that's serves as a means to encourage the new women and the old editors to be able to contribute to the movement and stay glued to the movement also.

Where gifts were given to the first position, second and third.

5. We also keep the women in touch as we promise to keep them engaged in the movement for 6 months by then we believe they are experience enough to navigate themselves and find their ways to contribute to the movement even on their own.

As part of this, the upcoming project we have on Water sanitation and hygiene. The group are duly informed and we keep them busy with updates on how to keep on continue editing. And the group are big part of the participants of our next project the Hausa Wikipedia water sanitation and hygiene.

MOST EFFECTIVE APPROACH 1. The collaboration with the Kaduna Wikimedians Network. 2. The Impromptu contest 3. The update given to the group on how to continue editing. 4. The workshops.

[edit]

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: 1. How best we can change this narrative in the movement. 2. How we can engaged and keep womem in the women. 3. How best we can create, or translate articles of women and their biographies in Wikipedia. 4. How best we can retain them even after the project for the women to continue editing Wikipedia. 5. And how best women can led in the movement if being given a chance.

We have learn a lot during and after this project, looking from the perspective of what we intent to learn at the beginning.

1. We learn that women are super ready if given a chance to lead in the movement. 2. We learn that, it only takes the ability to try to change the narrative in the movement. 3. We learn that, we can engaged women in the movement by keeping them busy and given them necessary update that's why the group as part of means of retaining them are still in our plan to our upcoming project Water sanitation and hygiene. 4. We learn that, women have more time to be able to translate an article and make it into a very good readable form.

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

Yeah what really happens is the Impromptu Contest we have, which is not part of the plan at all. And given the fact that, we have limited resources but still it's advise and it's show a very positive good results and outcome

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)
