This Project will be a 3 days edit-a-thon in kaduna metropolis which include kaduna south, kaduna north and igabi local government area. this is also to bring the new editors into one room with experience editors to share experience and expertise. in other to polish the old articles to reach wiki standard and also create new articles for the advancement of wikipedia project.

this project seeks to recruit 50 new editors

  1. Increase skills for existing editors

this project will bring experience editors and the new editors in other to share experience and Expertise.

  1. Add or improve content

this project will polish the old articles in other to reach wiki standard and also it will bring atleast 50 new articles.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings? this will be a series of editathon in 3 local government in kaduna metropolis.this project will bring new editors and experience ones to share expertise.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using. i will be using the existing social media we have already in facebook, whatsap, twitterr and hausa wikipedia community portal https://ha.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Kofan_al%27umma

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings. i will use our existing social media groups on whatsap facebook and twitter and also hausa community portal on hausa wikipedia main page.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them? Yes participant edit wikipedia mostly down here with thier phones. if there is anything to help them with, that will be internet data.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)? i will engaged them through our social media platforms.

7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. 8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project? this project will allow the utmost sharing experience between the experience and new editors. it will give the avenue for personal meetings and sharing of experience between editors.

it will also give room for new editors to ask questions and have the advantage of receiving information first hand.

Halls For 3 Days will cost 500 USD


Transportation For Organisers and facilitator's for the 3 events will cost 350 USD


Refreshment including food and snacks for 25 participants at each of the 3 event will cost 300 USD


Data for 25 participants In each event will cost 250 USD


Rental Computers for the 3 events 200 USD


Certificate Of Attendance for participants in all of the event will cost 200 USD


Facemask and Sanitisers To be Used for organisers, facilitator's and participants will cost 150 USD
