Goals[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went? The WikiForHumanRights 2021 "Right to a healthy environment" writing contest was a great opportunity to document the right to a healthy environment in Tunisia and to write articles about topics related to sustainable environment. We set a goal to write/improve 20 articles and we were able to exceed this target as 27 articles have been written in the three main contest' languages.

Outcome[edit]

Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.

Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
Number of articles created or improved 20 New articles created 27 (details)
Number of participants 10 Number of participants involved 7 among them 3 newly registered users The contest was organised during a difficult period in Tunisia characterized by many covid cases and many active wikimedians were not able to participate as they have to take care of their families.

Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?
It's the first time we create a main landing contest page on Meta with clear information about the contest (link). A similar pages should be used for next contests.
Publishing a list of suggested articles was very helpful to create the new articles (link) which was not the case for the example for previous contest like WikiGap.
The creation of a new module Module:Missing articles WMTN which will be helpful for future writing contest.

  • What did not work so well?
Implications of more active wikimedians.
Not being able to gather and organise a physical editathon.
didn't find a way to spend the 50 USD related to the social media (facebook) as it was requiring an International credit card which was not possible to do it with our fiscal sponsor.
  • What would you do differently next time?
Organise a physical editathon if the health situation allows that.
Find a way to pay social media using local currency by mandating a local communication agency or to invest the promotion budget on local web sites.
