Proposed participation[edit]
This is a project that started in India where the chapter there collaborated with the Swedish embassy to increase women participation on Wikipedia. My participation at this project will activate women Wikipedians in Lusaka and it will also bridge the content gaps in Zambia since our aim will be to encourage the participants to edit in their own mother tongue about Zambian subjects such as heritage, clothes, food, notable Zambian women and other notable events in Zambia.
Goal and expected impact[edit]
Together with the Swedish embassy in Zambia and the Zambian women history museum, we are not only aiming at increasing the number of women who are participating on Wikipedia but we are also looking at retaining women as well as creating awareness through this project. I must also add that we tried to find an experienced Wikipedian in Zambia who can run the project, but we were not successful.

- Travel (round trip airfare from Johannesburg to Lusaka): 418 USD
- Accomodation: Covered by the Swedish embassy
- Food: Covered by the Swedish embassy
