Welcome back from Wikimania 2016!

Outcome

[edit]
Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?
This year we decided —as Board Members of Wikimedia Chile (along with User:Superzerocool)— to share our experience live on Twitter through our personal accounts and the official account of the chapter. I tweeted (mostly on Spanish) about the sessions and meetings I assisted, many of them related to topics of my interest, as the legal relation of Wikipedia with copyright (freedom of panorama included), privacy (right to be forgotten) and net neutrality. I also posted some stuff on my other social media accounts as Facebook or Instagram. You can see my shared experience in this Storify.

Connections

[edit]
Iberocoop meeting at Wikimania 2016.

As usual in Wikimanias, I met a lot of people of the Wikimedia movement, including wikipedians, WMF staff and volunteers, and also local people of Esino Lario not (still) related to Wikimedia projects.

I had an interesting conversation with User:Reem Al-Kashif about the implementation of dialects (of "new languages") in different Wikipedias, mostly about Reem's experience in Arabic Wikipedia, that could be replied in Mapudungun Wikipedia. I gave a little interview to User:Mboix of Wikimujeres, about the work of Wikimedia Chile in gender-topics.

Other wikimedians I met for the first time in this conference were (among others) User:Xabier Cañas, User:Vitor Mazuco, User:Satdeep Gill. I also share a lot with User:ProtoplasmaKid, User:Atropine, User:Wotancito, User:Vini_175, User:Oscar ., User:Rodelar, User:Millars, and many others.

As president of Wikimedia Chile, I assisted to the chairpersons meeting (with new ED Katherine Maher and WMF chair Christophe Henner) and the Iberocoop meeting.
