Proposed participation

[edit]

Goal and expected impact

[edit]

My name is Shahadu Sadik, a Ghanaian and a regular contributor of images to Wikimedia Commons.

The Creative Commons Global Summit is a binannual event that gathers people from the creative industry, scholars and IT enthusiasts to share ideas about knowledge sharing and the open movement as whole.

Attending Creative Commons Global Summit will help me understand more on how people can benefit from open licenses.

Budget breakdown

[edit]

Creative Commons is giving me USD 1000 for the conference. To attend I have a total need of 1800 though.

My costs:

  • Flight from Accra to Toronto and from Toronto to Accra: USD 1250
  • Transport from home to airport and back in Ghana: USD 30
  • Cost of Visa (visa fee, police records, health papers): USD 150
  • Transport in Toronto for 4 days: USD 70
  • Feeding 4 days: USD 260

Total: USD 1800
Requirement as a Grant: USD 800

Endorsements

[edit]
  • I strongly endorse Sadik's participation for the Creative Commons Global Summit. Mawulicherubim (talk) 22:21, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
  • I endorse this grant application. Ghana does not have a group of affiliates for Creative Commons yet. It is important to have dedicated contributors and activists versed in free licenses in this country, especially knowing that Ghana does not have freedom of panorama. That Shahadusadik has received an invitation to the summit proves that Creative Commons sees potential in him. --Gereon K. (talk) 18:30, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
  • I endorse this grant, Sadike will help the whole African community and will share the experience he will get.Ahmed Mohi El din (talk) 15:25, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
