Provisional budget breakdown

Venue: New York Public Library (SIBL and Mid-Manhattan library buildings) Meeting room(s), WiFi, cleaning and security provided at no cost as in-kind support in concert with the NYPL's "150 year celebrations that same weekend. Potential for nominal AV charge. Accommodation: Hostelling International, New York. Dorms (4-6people per room including breakfast) $49pp/pn x 20people x Thursday/Friday/Saturday = $2940 + Breakfast for three days = $288 + Extra night for some = ~$350 = $3,578 Catering/Expenses: Lunch can be arranged on an individual basis during a break or we are allowed to bring in catering. ~$15pp/pd x 3days = $1125 Subway tickets: $2.25 per trip x 2pp/pd x 3days = $337 Sundries = $250 Dinner can be bought as a group, at own cost. Propose to give attendees a per-diem rather than manage centrally. This increases flexibility and decreases paperwork. Therefore, propose to give each attendee $70+ for their ground transport/food expenses or standard WMF volunteer per-diem rate if higher. = $1712 (divided by 25people = $68pp) Travel: Remaining expenses to be spent on Travel for volunteer attendees. Accommodation and Catering = ~$5300 therefore: Chapters with own funds will be encouraged to subsidise participants from their countries. = $4700 for flights and train transport for volunteers. Total of $10,000
