This project is a photowalk that centers on capturing monument in areas in Anambra.This project will be done by Some Editors which our focus is traveling to places in Anambra Such as Enugu Ukwu,Nsugbe ,Ukpo that have story telling Monuments/ Archeological and cultural sites to help documents them especially those going into extinction. Enugu Ukwu is an Ancient Town in Anambra State with mesueum and Cultural sites, there is need to go to these places in Anambra to have our cultural / Archeological sites and items on the Wikimedia Commons.

project goal

To engage new and existing members of the community.


To increase or improve images on Wikimedia Common.


To add freely licensed, and quality images of Nigeria monuments to Wikimedia Common.


To increase the number of contributors to Wikimedia Common.


To recruit new contributors to Wikimedia Common.


To preserve some of our cultural item that may go into extinction and the need for Nigerian cultural visibility in wikicommons.


To correct error or not clear monument photos uploaded on commons.


To have enough photos to back wikipedia articles up.


To improve community members User s experience by teaching participants how to upload photos on the Wikimedia commons.


Also,for we the community to get directly from our community the collection of Free licence photos.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

We will communicate to the participants through our various Whatsapp groups and our discussion pages. 4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse your proposal as proof of availability)

Yes, they have their smartphones and labtops and we'll train them on how to take and upload quality photos on Wikimedia commons. 6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

we will continue follow up through our various Whatsapp platforms.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

We will use the Outreach dashboard to track contributions.

I am the one organizing the project and will be assisted by User: Timzy D'Great who will assist on getting quality photos and User: Akwugo who will assist on how to upload media files on Wikimedia commons . we are not receiving support anywhere.
