  • Art and technology has worked hand in hand over time which has led to we making research about people related to creating or involving themselves with technology and art in Nigeria.

This project is targeted at bridging gender gap on women in art and technology and also creating more entries on wikipedia and wikidata which includes creating of new articles and new items, improving of existing articles and existing items, improving article stubs and adding photos to articles that needs photos.

This project will further create a form of awareness and recruitment process for especially those from the field of technology to get familiar with wikipedia and it's sister project.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.

We will be engaging our whatsapp platform and other social media platform to communicate about the project and other informations to participants and also create awareness about the event.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

We will be engaging our whatsapp platform, E-mails and other social media platform to communicate about the project.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes, the participants are student, youths and professionals who would have smartphones and laptops for an easy flow of knowledge, participation during the training, mifi/router would be provided.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

At the conclusion of the event we will be working to ensure that the participants join as community members of Wikimedia User Group Nigeria as this will keep them updated with developments in the wikimedia space and gaining access to other wiki events. Additionally,participants will be added to a whatsapp group for follow up and ongoing support. We will conduct a post event survey to identify areas for improvement.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

The content of this proposal will help prioritize bridging the content gap by creating and improving articles about women in art and technology.

By making more information available and accessible to anyone there by promoting knowledge equity which is in line with Wikimedian movement strategies. We are committed to creating a safe,supportive and equitable environment for all participants. We will adhere strictly to promote the Wikimedia UCOC and friendly space policy.

User:Akintundedaniel (Project Lead) I am an experienced Wikimedian editor and i have engaged in various edit-a-thons on wikipedia, wikidata respectively.

User:Alexander achie004 (Communication And Logistics) : Is an experienced, having over 1000 edits across different projects, he will be in charge of the Communication and logistics during the course of the campaign.

I am fully endorsing this project as it hope to actively promote the content entries on both Wikipedia and wikidata. The project lead is an experienced editor and I will join him in creating a proper awareness to the Wikipedia to people who do not understand Wikipedia and wikidata.
