• This phototour is projected at promoting and preserving monumental and historical places in Osun state as part of "Wiki Loves Earth 2023" competition to contribute more image contents under the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria. We will go from places to places to capture natural landmarks in Osun state and environment to take pictures and then upload it on Wikimedia commons.

Project Goal

• Recruit new editors.
• Add or improve image contents about Nigeria.
• The phototour will focus on adding usable cultural contents on WikiCommons to be used on Wikipedia and other projects.
• Train new photographers on how to upload pictures on Wiki Commons.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

I am doing one photowalk activity and photo upload session.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.

I have briefed the Wikimedia Nigeria community about the phototour and the participants will be aware about the Wikipedia competition via WhatsApp or Telegram group that will be created.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?

Information will be shared on the WhatsApp or Telegram group created.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

Helpful and useful information about future Wikimedia projects and photography trainings will be shared continuously on the group created.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This is an exercise that I and my team aim to build a vibrant and inclusive community of photographers who actively contribute their images to Wikimedia Commons. Through their collective efforts, we can enrich the repository of free knowledge and empower individuals around the world with visual resources that enhance their learning and understanding of beautiful places in Nigeria.

Bus publicity material (flex banner) = N10,000

Branded T-Shirts(It is important for ensuring security and identification measures to aid an efficient and smooth phototour) 4,000 x 5 = N20,000
