Project Title[edit]

LET US OPEN THE KNOWLEDGE WITH #1LIB1REF: THE ANAMBRA NETWORK SPACE

Project summary[edit]

The global campaign of #1Lib1Ref is commemorated annually to remind us of the importance of ensuring accurate and authentic sources in Wikimedia. It is about learning more and adding value to already existing Wikipedia articles as well as telling more stories and integrating other Wikipedia sister projects. As the world is a global village, this is a good opportunity for Wikimedia Anambra Network to join in the world campaign of adding references to articles. Undoubtedly, there are several articles in Wikipedia that are begging to be improved with authentic sources. Doing this project will add value to these anomaly and make Wikimedia more credible.

This is a Wikipedia activity. This project will combine physical and follow up online training. The Wikimedia Anambra Network is majorly a community of librarians and students in the academic communities. It is then necessary that they use the #1Lib1Ref opportunity to nurture more volunteers for Wikimedia as they learn the basics and improve their editing skills. The participants will be taught to sign up in the meta and join the dashboard. The training will include how to create and improve articles with authentic sources. There will be edit-a-thon that will last for two weeks with prizes given to the editors that have more contributions.
