Briefly summarize your project proposal.

  • It is a project targeted at creating and translating English Wikiquote articles of Media Personalities to Wikiquote, training new editors on how to create pages and add translations on the Igbo Wikiquote while seeking to improve the skills of old editors. An Editathon will be organized after the training so that more quality pages with different personalities and their famous quotes could be created.

I am doing one training and editathon

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I have informed the Igbo Wikimedian user m Group on the Talk page https://meta.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Igbo_Wikimedians_User_Group# and also on the various WhatsApp groups.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

The participants will be contacted through the several various Student's group and other wiki Group and also receive updates from there

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.
For example: User:Kaizenify

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes, they have the equipment and skills. For the new editors, they will be taught and followed up

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

During the event, participants will be asked to provide their phone numbers and emails. After the event, they will be provided with updates and will join several groups to participate in activities.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

The project is essential so as to create and improve articles on Wikiquote

  2. Number of participants: 15
  3. Number of new editors: 5
  4. Number of of articles created or improved: 60
  5. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events): 10

  • Through the WMF Dashboard which will be created to track the contribution of each participants.

I am the Organizer and facilitator while Chisom Vivian with username Viva33 will be the co-facilitator User: Kingsley Nkem will be invited as an experienced editor. No support from elsewhere.
