Project summary[edit]

Briefly summarize your project proposal.

There are lots of scenes and natural settings that have not been captured to contribute to Commons. These are imageries that give insights to the natural heritage and the dynamics of weather in South-East Zone. Observations on the Wikimedia articles show that some articles need climate and weather media, especially on rain and environment to tell good stories surrounding them. As the 2023 theme of WLA is “Climate and Weather” it becomes necessary that a photo walk and upload of the photos are embarked on to get authentic contents of rain fall and the environmental stimuli to weather conditions in South-East Zone.

The community has experienced Wikimedians that have participated in phot walk before and delivered good contents. They will form part of this project to produce good photos that can tell thousand stories. New community members will be drawn to this project. The participants have smart devices with quality capturing modes that can get good photos. They also have good skills in photography and upload in Wikicommons. The project will take 3 weeks to complete. The first two weeks will be phot walk while the upload will take place at the last week. This project will offer training on how to upload pictures to Commons and the use of creative commons license. It will add to media contents, knowledge and enlightenment on the climate and weather in South-East Zone.
