Grants:Wikimedia UG Nigeria Grants/Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Community Support Fund/Osun Wikimedia Network Launching and Follow-up for Wikipedia Awareness Program

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Project summary[edit]

Briefly summarize your project proposal.

  • This project is a follow-up training on raising awareness of Wikipedia and its sister projects among the people of Osun State. We also want to officially launch and onboard members and new members of the community to the newly approved ‘Osun Wikimedia Network’ by the WUGN.
  • The program will run through as an edit-a-thon and will be centered on adding more information on Wikipedia articles of places in Nigeria. It is important that locations in Nigeria have detailed descriptions. In order to add more details or improve information on articles, the Wikidata-powered information boxes will be used to generate details about Nigerian articles of places.
