Project summary
[edit]Briefly summarize your project proposal, and include the contact details of your contact person(s) for this project
- This project is aimed at contributing to the Global " Wiki Loves Earth 2022" under the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria. The selected natural site for the photo walk is "Adada Waterfall" located in Nsukka, Enugu State. As at the time of this application, research from Wikimedia projects like Wikipedia, WikiData and Wiki Commons shows that there are non-existing photo, article or items about the waterfall. Hence, the reason for participation in the "Wiki Loves Earth". There will be 20 volunteer participants that will upload 100 pictures on Wiki Commons.

Project Plan
[edit]Activities
[edit]Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?
- I am doing one training and photowalk
2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.
- This project has been publicised at the Nigerian User Group Talk page https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Wikimedia_User_Group_Nigeria and Igbo Wikimedia User Group Talk Page https://meta.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Igbo_Wikimedians_User_Group#. The University of Nigeria Wiki Fan Club have been discussing this on their what app platform.
3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.
- The participants will be updated through the Fan Club Whatapp platform. Also, their phone numbers will be used to contact them.
4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.
For example: User:Kaizenify
5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?
- Already existing editors have experience on uploading photos on Wiki Commons. The new editors will be trained by me on how to use Wiki Commons.
6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?
- Mew editors will be added to our what app platform for future updates and participation in other Wikimedia projects
7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
- This is a project that I believe will contribute to free knowledge. Having seen that this particular waterfall has no presence in any of Wikimedia projects, it will be a good thing having this photo featured in the " Wiki Loves Earth 2022" under Wikimedia User Group Nigeria.
