I've headed up various Wikimedia efforts in Funtua Town, bringing in lots of editors. Although I've done projects for Wiktionary, Wikipedia, and Wikimedia Commons, I haven't tackled Wikidata yet. People are curious, so I'm planning a project just for Wikidata to teach them how to contribute well. Our goal is to boost the information about our local area on Wikidata.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

Is a two days project, first day we will focused on training about how they can create and improve data items, and how they can create lexemes.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

We already have Funtua Wikimedians WhatsApp group so I will share there and I will also share in Hausa Wikimedian User Group WhatsApp groups.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

All participants will know via WhatsApp group of Funtua Wikimedians and phone call as well as face to face announcement

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse your proposal as proof of availability)

Impact[edit]

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:

  1. Number of events - 2
  2. Number of participants - 20
  3. Number of new editors - 15
  4. Number of of articles created or improved - 130 including items and lexemes
  5. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events) -15

  2. Hall: N30,000×2days=N60,000
  3. Event's banner:N10,000.
  4. Data support for participants and facilitators :N1,000×22=N22,000×2days=44,000
  5. Local transport to the college for facilitators: N2,000×2=N4,000.
  6. T-shirts for facilitators:N5,000×2=N10,000.
  7. Microphone - N20,000 for 2 days.
  8. Contingency - N10,000

Total amount=N224,000
