Comments from FDC staff on Wikimedia Osterreich’s Q3 report[edit]

Thank you all for your work on this report. It's always interesting to see your work and we loved the photographs you included. KLove (WMF) (talk) 21:46, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Congratulations again on your high number of files categorized as “Supported by Wikimedia Österreich“ this quarter. We also noted that a number of these files were featured as quality images and featured pictures on three Wikipedias!
  • Your pilot on working with small GLAMs with regional focus is interesting, and we look forward to learning about the outcomes and if you consider the pilot approach successful.
  • Congratulations on launching the Open Data Portal, and including the 58 data sets you uploaded, even if you did not see many new sets from partners.
  • We are eager to understand how many new users you retain that were recruited through participation in Wiki Loves Monuments. We hear your concerns around volunteer fatigue, and are also interested in learning how your organization combats this to move forward with your other work.
  • We liked learning about the workshop with firemen -- an audience that probably doesn’t often participate in such events!
  • We appreciate the challenges you face in tracking article quality content, as many are struggling with this. Please keep us updated on how the Denkmal-Cup turned out.
  • It is good to read your observation about wikiversity and working with college professors and students. We would indeed like to see how this learning plays into the development of future programs.
Thank you for the feedback! As for contributor retention: We are at it for all our photo competitions last year - it has to be done manually though and will take a bit of time. But we will have it ready for the impact report for sure. --CDG (WMAT staff) (talk) 10:45, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
