Grants talk:IdeaLab/Local wiki

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

My two cents[edit]

I like the idea of this, but I'm just curious as to how this will be different from offerings like LocalWiki, which is basically Wikipedia for local areas. I'm also concerned at the manpower this will need, since there would be need for a band of admins that could help prevent it from getting loaded with vandalism and spam.

I think it might be a good idea to reach out to LocalWiki about maybe cooperating with local communities to create their own pages - and maybe do something like an edit-a-thon where people can add content to both sites. If it's notable, add to both, but if it falls short of WP's guidelines then only add it to the one. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 13:26, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

How could London Wiki [1] be used as an example? Jackiespeel (talk) 19:19, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
