Grants talk:PEG/WM CZ/Mediagrant/Report/2012/04

Thank you for this clear and concise report, and thanks for including some reflection on success and on obstacles.

While I understand the clerical work is less than thrilling, it is part of responsible management of donor funds, and part of WMCZ's obligation as grantee. At this point, I am afraid it is not approved to use any of the grant money to pay for this work. If no one is prepared to perform these tasks, we shall ask WMCZ to either slow down the Mediagrant activities until the paperwork is caught up on, or to remit the remaining funds to the Foundation and end the grant. Hello Asaf, it is true that Barrel work payment has not been explicitly approved in Mediagrant rules, but we thought approx. 75 dollars/month would be acceptable in comparison for instance with the expenditures per one photograph (CZK 3, i.e. 0.15 USD). Still, it is all just a concept. Indeed, we will definitely try to discuss this issue properly with Presentation&Outreach’s eye and with our board, as well as with you. We think it would be sort of appropriate to pay for all the work of the Barrel – one advantage would be that we could “push” him/her as he would be a sort of our “paid employee”.
Still , it is not true that paper work is not “caught up”. It just takes some time to deliver every single receipt to Che (because using post service for each will be sometimes more expensive than is the amount on the bill, and as you know, we are spread all over the country). Also, we have some issues with quick confirmation of the “tickets” by grants. —Vojtech.dostal (talk) 07:56, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
