The WMF would be happy to see WMDK "gear shift". Could you be more specific about your plans? What conference(s) do you plan? What travel? What meetings? How do you see those activities contributing to the Wikimedia Mission? Thanks. Ijon 11:38, 13 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

We plan on attending the major Danish book fair, either with or without a stall. We also wish to be able to send attendees to Wikimedia and free culture events in Northern Europe without asking them to pay for representing us. A third priority is outreach to the two thirds of Denmark that are not Copenhagen: Our current member base is very Copenhagen-centric and we would like to support the Wikipedia community in other cities too. All of these activities make Wikimedia Danmark and the Wikimedia Mission more visible, and ought to recruit more Wikim|pedians and prolong the activity period of the current Wikim|pedians. --Palnatoke 20:14, 17 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good. Please update the grant request itself with a summary of this information. Also, can you describe how you intend to do outreach to the rest of Denmark beyond Copenhagen, and how you plan to measure your success? Ijon 07:07, 19 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have added a bit more. --Palnatoke 09:38, 19 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Team[edit]

One more question: how large is your team? Not just chapter membership, but the number of people who actually expressed willingness to carry out these proposed projects? Ijon 13:01, 19 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

The core is our board of seven and four or five active non-boardmembers. Add to that a similar number of occasional activists. --Palnatoke 13:32, 19 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Travel[edit]

When you say "sending attendees to Wikimedia", do you mean sending people to Wikimania? Ijon 16:33, 19 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

More like the recent WLM meeting in Berlin, the fundraising meeting coming up, and things like FSCONS in Gothenburg. --Palnatoke 09:31, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ah, excellent! Thanks for clarifying. Ijon 16:40, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Specifics[edit]

Could you please present some specific plans? If the grant is funded, and you have the money tomorrow, are you ready to begin work? If so, surely you have some specific plans -- specific locations, a timeline, etc. Please add these details to the grant page. Ijon 19:03, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Just emphasizing Ijon's point, it should be clear that coming up with a bundle grant does not substantially diminish the need to detail the whats, whos, hows and whens of each item of the bundle. --Solstag 08:42, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Reviews[edit]

In general I agree with Ijon's comments and questions. In order to facilitate the answer I would ask to improve the form by detailing Who will do What, When and How much it cost for every foreseen activity.--Josepnogue 18:39, 6 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Moved to Draft[edit]

As this request seems to be stalled for now, pending more information from WMDK, I'm changing its status to the new "draft" category. When WMDK finds time to make progress on this, please reset the Status field in the template in the request page itself (not this talk page) back to "Open". Thanks!
