Report Accepted[edit]

Thank you for this report and congrats on successfully setting up WMMX! The report is accepted. We have a few questions/comments below and would appreciate your response.

  1. Has the relationships improved with the bank and tax authorities? Will WMMX be able to receive funds smoothly in the future?
  2. What is the level of success of outreach to other Mexican states?
  3. You've established a large number of educational and cultural partnerships. What is the nature of these partnerships and how will you work together going forward? WEP, GLAM, events?
  4. Why was none of the promotional budget spent?
  5. Reallocation: Please retain the remaining $54,117 MXN if you plan on submitting your 2014 Annual Plan proposal in the next 21 days.

  1. Yes. It was hard but even among such authorities we are spreading what we do and who we are. They are more confident with our activities. The laws are still rigid related to deposits coming from USA to avoid money laundry but with a good accountant we can prevent any problem. It's a fact that we will be able to receive money. Nevertheless we will open a second banking account as B plan, only to be on the safe side.
  2. Obviously Mexico city has the biggest activity, although the last year we saw a rise in the succes in other 2 states: Puebla and Jalisco. Specially in Puebla where theres is growing a community really active as you can see in our monthly reports, even we introduce to our Board the leader of such community. Jalisco, in the west coast, is starting to generate partnerships with institutions and key people in the thecnology scene. We have a couple of members in the north but we still need work there and in the southest part of our country.
  3. That is varied. We are quite adaptable to the needs and features of our partners. With universities we are working in stablish WEP's [1], with some government we are implementing workshops, learning, events and release of content in a free way –the last is quite slow–. Finally with museums we are on talks to introduce GLAM programs but until now we are only made edit-a-thons.
  4. By the time the money was released by the bank it was almost ending of the year, on the other hand we already were delayed with this report. So, we decided not to expend more money in order to prepare this.
  5. We already have the next grant draft. It's almost sure that we will submit it on time.
