Endorsement[edit]

This proposal will help our ks language community to expand its base of users through promotion be it by the use of seminars, online promotion through social media and other platforms, quizzes with prizes. Very few people are aware of Kashmiri language wikipedia due to lack of information. This grant will certainly help us reach our targets which are to expand the community and therefore increase the participation in creation of pages and improving their content. Recommendation from the South Asia RGC[edit]

We are happy to note that that a fledgeling Indic language community is taking a logically planned program to establish resources needed by the community in one of its very first initiatives. The successful completion of this project will provide a foundation for building up a strong Wikimedian culture and community-support knowledge infrastructure. There are a large number of existing AV resources online. We recommend that before beginning to create new audio and video, existing ones be used where feasible with voice overs and subtitles. Some resources are (there are many others):

India and other SAARC nations, have well established language communities, with much expertise, experience and innovative ideas. We recommend that the project applicants network with these communities to benefit from their work and resources.

Considering the application and the engagement with the applicants South Asia GRC recommends that:

a periodic update of the work done on this project to the Wikimediaindia list for information of all and to build up public support for this and other initiatives by the Kashmiri community.
- these tutorials should be published under appropriate licenses and platforms for the use of the larger Wikimedia movement (eg. CC-BY-SA 4.0 or CC-0 etc)
  - a tutorial should be made about “how to make a video tutorial for wikipedia”, this will help as a guideline for future volunteers who wish to make more tutorials in future and ensure sustainable transfer of skills.

With the following recommendations and suggestions, we are happy to recommend full funding for your grant request.

Requesting Extension in project time[edit]

Dear Community, Hope you all are doing well. I am here to request an extension of one month in the project. This is requested keeping in view the delay of the requested grant funds. It will take few days for the equipments to reach. This extension would help us to fix the gap generated by delay in funds.

We have already started the work from the day 1st of this grant but the activities that require equipments and where no alternative was found are still pending . The progress of the project can be found at the official project page. In addition to the project time extension request, If you have any suggestions regarding this project, We would love to hear from you and act on them.
