Not eligible[edit]

Hello ParasharSarthak and Jayprakash12345, unfortunately, your Rapid Fund request did not pass the initial checks required to process the grant. I understand that this can be frustrating for you but let me explain the rationale behind this decision.

  • Even though the submitted Rapid Fund is an individual type grant request submitted by Sarthak, it is obvious from the application that both of you are co-leads in the project.
  • In our initial conversation, you did not mention that User:Jayprakash12345 is a leader and User:ParasharSarthak is a team member in a General Support Fund submitted on behalf of Indic MediaWiki Developers User Group. My colleague brought this to my attention during the review process. You also did not mention this detail in your response to question G on the Rapid Fund application. However, this is an important detail that affects your eligibility for the Rapid Funds. If I knew this detail, I would give you a heads up in advance.

Per our funding guidelines:

  • General Support Fund grantee partners are not eligible for the Rapid Fund program. The start date on your General Support Fund application which will most probably be approved is 1 January 2024 and the start date on the Rapid Fund project is 15 January 2024. These two grants are overlapping.
  • Board members, leaders, presidents, bank account signatories, executive directors and other paid staff or contractors of Wikimedia affiliates/groups/organizations with existing Wikimedia Foundation Fund awards (General Support Fund, Rapid Fund, Research Fund, Conference Fund, Movement Strategy Implementation Grants) are not eligible for individual grant requests.

Based on the details mentioned above, we are not able to move forward with your Rapid Fund request. Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions to these criteria. We marked the grant request as not funded and also sent a similar email. I again apologize for any frustration and additional work caused. Please let me know if you have any questions. --DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:23, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
