Not Funded[edit]

Hello @Didierwiki thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed your grant application and decided to not fund your application at this time. Here is some feedback you might take into consideration for any future applications.

Clarify the challenge and potential Impact: While the project aims to make educational establishments in Côte d'Ivoire visible and accessible on Wiki projects,  there are no specific details on how this visibility will translate into real-world impact. Specify how this visibility will benefit the community, students, and researchers. Will it help in increasing wiki activities there? How might contributors in Korhogo, Cote d'Ivoire or globally use this data once updated. Defining the practical impact will make the proposal more compelling.

Partnership and Community Engagement: While you plan on geo-mapping public and private institutions, the proposal doesn't mention potential partnerships or collaboration with local educational institutions, government bodies, or NGOs. Consider engaging these entities to enhance the project's reach and credibility. Collaborating with schools or educational authorities could lead to a more comprehensive and accurate database. Additionally, elaborate on how the local Wikimedia community will be actively involved in the project.

Budget breakdown: The budget is not clear as there appears to be a number of duplications. For instance there are three costs that include assistants, two costs that include coordination and two costs that include coordination. In the application itself, there is little information on the activities and persons that are being costed for in the budget. Essentially it is important to ensure that the budget corresponds with the project plan.

Addressing these points will strengthen your application and provide a clearer understanding of the project's objectives, methods, and expected outcomes. We welcome the team to apply in future rounds.
