Endorsement from Fulani215[edit]

Looking at the current situation of people with disabilities in Wikimedia movement, this project will really help and bring them onboard as everyone has the equal chance to contribute to free knowledge movement.

Review of Wikidata experience[edit]

Because this proposal specifically mentions Wikidata, I have performed a review of the team member's experience and record.

  • Neutral Neutral Inyor4mr has significant experience on Wikidata, but many of their created items do not properly indicate notability, and they make other mistakes like adding poor descriptions. I therefore cannot endorse them as a Wikidata trainer at this time.
  • Oppose Oppose Atibrarian has a significant history of creating items that are deleted because they fail to establish notability, as recently as within the last week. I am concerned that this lack of appreciation for project policy would make them unsuitable as a trainer for the Wikidata project.
  • Neutral Neutral Zmu'az4Z has a moderate history at Wikidata, has had several items deleted, and their item quality varies from excellent to thin. They seem to make many representation mistakes. I think they show promise, but I cannot recommend then as a Wikidata trainer at this time.

In summary, there is no evidence here that this team can be effective in training participants to use Wikidata. Bovlb (talk) 21:20, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

thank you for your observation, I shall seek for an experience editor on wikidata to help train participants during the campaign Inyor4mr (talk) 18:52, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
also, Atibrarian will be facilating wikipedia not wikidata in the campaign. Inyor4mr (talk) 05:38, 29 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • I want to correct the wrong impression that I have a "significant history of creating items that are deleted because they fail to establish notability" and "lack of appreciation for project policy".
A look at the items created in the last one year here will clearly show that the statements above are incorrect and misleading. Over 40 items were created, and only five (5) were deleted (were part of the Green Expressions/Edi-a-thon items listed for creation), representing 5% of the total and non of them were "recent" or "within the last week." Hence, the claim "SIGNIFICANT" is misleading. I would want to believe, it be a case of mistaken Identity and/or an oversight.
As a certified trainer, I understand Wikidata Notability, and I wouldn't deliberately show disregard or engage in activities that would undermine the collaborative project or other Wikimedia projects. Regards. Atibrarian (talk) 21:38, 6 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi! Thanks for following up. I am concerned about the accuracy of my reviews, and will take your feedback seriously.
You have a total of 11 deleted items. The five most recent deleted items were created 2023-12-19, 2023-12-14 (2), 2023-12-01, and 2023-08-17. These are recent, and one was within the last week when I wrote my original remarks, so my claim seems entirely accurate in that respect.
You have created some 108 items that have not been deleted (once since my report). Reviewing your last ten creations (going back to 2023-11-26):
  • wikidata:Q124051190: No sitelinks, no identifiers, one reference, no structural need. This does not meet Wikidata's criteria for notability.
  • wikidata:Q123915750: No sitelinks, no identifiers, one reference, no structural need. This does not meet Wikidata's criteria for notability.
  • wikidata:Q123821594: No sitelinks, an official website, one reference, no structural need. This arguably barely meets Wikidata's criteria for notability, but I predict it would not survive an RFD.
  • wikidata:Q123616078: No sitelinks, no identifiers, one reference, no structural need. This does not meet Wikidata's criteria for notability.
  • wikidata:Q123598769: No sitelinks, no identifiers, one reference, no structural need. This does not meet Wikidata's criteria for notability.
  • wikidata:Q123598639: No sitelinks, no identifiers, two references, no structural need. This does not meet Wikidata's criteria for notability. Incorrect use of P131. Invalid value for P108.
  • wikidata:Q123589757: No sitelinks, no identifiers, one reference, no structural need. This does not meet Wikidata's criteria for notability.
  • wikidata:Q123589426: No sitelinks, no identifiers, one reference, no structural need. This does not meet Wikidata's criteria for notability. Incorrect use of P131.
  • wikidata:Q123588532: No sitelinks, no identifiers, two references, no structural need. This does not meet Wikidata's criteria for notability. Invalid value for P108.
  • wikidata:Q123557111: No sitelinks, no identifiers, two references, no structural need. This does not meet Wikidata's criteria for notability.
Of these ten, only one arguably meets Wikidata's notability criteria, and all are are likely to get deleted if left in the current state. I also see other basic errors of representation, as noted above. So that's a 90-100% miss rate on notability in your last ten item creations.
Please believe that I don't mean to cast doubt on your good intentions. We are all human and make mistakes. Ideally other people would point those mistakes out to us and give us the opportunity to learn and improve.
Unfortunately, I believe we need to hold Wikidata trainers to a higher standard, as any weaknesses they have are likely to be propagated to their trainees, and therefore magnified.
I am surprised to learn that you are a certified trainer. Perhaps I should be looking upstream. Is there a list somewhere that I can consult? Is this certification specific to Wikidata, or more general? Who performs the certification? What are the criteria? Bovlb (talk) 02:27, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Endorsement from Igallards7[edit]

  • Strong support Strong support This initiative is part of Wiki for Minorities in Kaduna State, which seeks to make disability visible in its broadest sense in that geographical area in Nigeria. There is a national agreement with JONAPWD that authorizes our volunteers to attend and document disability activities that they organize or carry out. Therefore, it is easier to channel our motivations and know with the experience and expertise of the organization where, when and what we can do by applying our actions for free knowledge. I strongly support this project.

This aspect of the project which will help create more visibility to contents of disabilities in Northern Nigeria, and improve participants on digital literacy through wikimedia projects like wikipedia, wikicommon and wikidata, and creating a disabilites networks or fan club where they can connect to other wikimedians and make their own contribution. 4. Innovate in free knowledge 5. I believe so

Endorsment from —Gwanki📧[edit]

I enthusiastically endorse this proposal. This initiative, aiming to expand Wikimedia content on disabilities in Nigeria, is well-conceived and aligns with Wikimedia's mission. The comprehensive approach, including physical meetups, online sessions, and photo walks, reflects a commitment to inclusivity and digital literacy. Inyor4mr's leadership, supported by experienced team members, assures success. The engagement with disabled communities and the establishment of social media groups for ongoing connection demonstrate thoughtful planning. I encourage the approval and funding of this impactful project.

I strongly support this project and the chosen prospective project. This will bridge the gap between the able and the disabled persons in the internet space as well as creating more awareness of Wikimedia and it project to the disable community. And by this, I'm in full support that this proposal be given maximum attention and support. Thank you. --Friday musa (talk) 13:16, 6 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not Funded[edit]

Hello @Inyor4mr thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed your application and after a careful consideration, have decided to not fund this application at this time as the team has an ongoing project funded through the community micro-grants program in Nigeria. We recommend the team finalises that and to continue engaging with the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria for future applications as they are best positioned to provide the nuanced support the the team may need for projects such as this.
