Hello Kurmanbek. Thanks for your proposal for the Wikipedia 201 Education Program in Turkey. Overall, the proposal to develop an education program for advanced users, and it's good to see a broad range of topics covered including Lexemes, user roles, and article quality considerations. Here are my comments and questions:

  • Before we can fund the proposal, can you confirm who on your team is receiving compensation as a part of this project? Importantly, individuals who are receiving compensation through the General Support Fund with Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey are not eligible to also receive separate compensation for work through Rapid Funds.
  • While we support general collaboration between the Wikimedians of Turkic Languages User Group and Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey, and are glad you have done this outreach to continue this program, it will be important to make sure that this and other programs that the Wikimedians of Turkic Languages User Group may want to do in the future do not depend on 1) compensating members from the Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey, or 2) substantial support from Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey (e.g. three of your four team members are members of another user group). This is important because we want to avoid situations where individuals are receiving a disproportionate amount of movement resources across multiple kinds of grants as well individuals as having too many grant-related obligations across several independent projects. If this extent of support is needed in the future for your user groups's activities, we will not be able to fund these projects through Rapid Funds, and these would instead need to be incorporated into Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey's annual planning and General Support Fund activities.

When you're able, please respond to my questions above, and let me know if you have any questions or comments. With thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 15:35, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @I JethroBT (WMF);
1) people who receive compensation with the Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey Support fund will not receive any fee from this project. They will only be involved as mentors in this project. Only university students and technical team who will take part in this project will benefit from this.
2) This project does not belong to Wikimedians of Turkic Languages User Group and/or Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey. I will do this individually. Wikimedia Türkiye will only be the face of the announcement and promotion of this project. I am already affiliated with the Wikimedians of Turkic Languages User Group and I am operating on behalf of my user group. Kurmanbek💬 20:47, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request for change in project date[edit]

Hi @I JethroBT (WMF), as a result of the decision taken by the Council of Higher Education in Turkey, the opening of universities was postponed to October. For this reason, I need extra time to complete the project. It would be very good for me to postpone the deadline of the project to December. Can you help me with this? Hi @MJue (WMF), I would like to tag you to inform and get your support on this issue. Kurmanbek💬 21:53, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Noting that this extension request was approved over e-mail. I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 15:50, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @MJue (WMF), I hope you are in good health and wellness. We have completed 80% of our Wikipedia 201 project. However, since the studios at our university are quite busy, we have not been able to record a few videos yet. Is it possible to postpone the deadline of the project to the end of February 2024 so that we can complete the videos in our plan? If possible, we want to reach the number of videos we specified in our goals and complete the project in this way. I would also like to express my apologies for this delay, which was beyond my control. You can also find the videos we have completed so far and the working images of the project from the links below. I hope the new year brings happiness and stronger collaborations for all of us.
Hello @User:Kurmanbek thank you for the request. We will update your project end date to 29 February 2024, which means your final report will be due 29 March 2024. Please let us know if you have any updates or if you need to extend your project before this new end date. Thank you -- Morgan Jue (WMF) (talk) 17:02, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
