We ask you to respond to the following questions:

  1. In what ways do you think this research can support you or other members of the Wikimedia communities in the work that you do on the Wikimedia projects?
  2. What advice do you have for the authors to improve their research or the impact of their research? (We encourage you to share with the authors projects or initiatives that you think can benefit from the result of their research. This can help the authors connect their work with ongoing projects in the early stages of their research.)

I think that if we can introduce Wikipedia in Nigerian educational system, it will go a long way to make Wikipedia more acceptable and have a wider contribution. This is because students are in the age bracket that has more knowledge and access to the internet and will be able to contribute more. the older ones are not used to online.

I noticed that they have proposed to use 3 Universities in Nigeria. This number may be small. We have about 170 Universities as of 2021. to get a move acceptable result, I will suggest that they work in up to 6 Universities. I also think that they have to do more in the dissemination of the research work. In addition to the stakeholder's forum and the press conference that they proposed, I will suggest that a lot of publicity should be done so that the university community and the wider education community will be reached.

I have always wondered why our universities do not allow Wikipedia content to be used for purpose of research. when I was writing my final year project in my undergraduate programme at the Ebonyi State University, my project supervisor specifically warned that I cannot cite Wikipedia. I believe it will be like that in many Nigerian universities. I don't know whether it is like that in other countries. However, If a solution could be found to this problem, It will be welcomed by many students.

I think this is a proposal that would help us understand how to improve the reliability of our encyclopedias. T CellsTalk 20:39, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
