Grants talk:Project/MSIG/Deepening Community Engagement on Movement Strategy Implementation

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Overall Positive Feedback[edit]

This project plan by the Wikimedia Anambra Network is promising, and thee chosen initiatives make sense, especially regarding sustainability and leadership development. Additionally, it is good to see that the community aims to get involved in Wikimedia Movement Strategy and Governance processes in general. The to train new leaders to take on those kinds of roles, avoiding burnout and renewing participation, align with the Movement Strategy, and is truly commendable. Feedback For Improvement[edit]

Please note that the feedback provided is intended to enable the project team to strengthen this proposal, and the project idea generally. Having said that, please update the proposal where necessary, with the details requested, and feel free to also reply to this discussion with any additional information that might shed more light on the project plans.

  • It is unclear if this project focused on the broader Igbo speaking community or just the Igbo speaking community in Anambara.  The project team should please provide clarity on the project’s target audience.
  • The project proposes mentoring and leadership sessions, but it would be good for the project team to provide clarity on how many mentoring/leadership transfer sessions are planned, and how will those be conducted?
  • A key part of the Community engagement package is the expectation, that this will translate to applications for movement strategy grants. It will be good for the team to provide some metrics and expectations of the potential outcomes regarding participation and MSIG proposals after the project ends.
  • Are there any specific movement strategy initiatives this project will focus on for the Igbo community, and / or skills the project team plans to develop?
  • Regarding project metrics, how many awareness meetings does the project team intend to hold, and will these be organized online or in-person? This would provide additional clarity on the current budget allocations.
  • Please provide a list of all the non-translated movement strategy pages the team intends to now translate.
  • Does the team plan to use the MS Forum to engage community or share project learnings?
  • Does this project team intend to coordinate with other groups, that have organized conversations around the movement charter and translated movement charter documents? YPam (WMF) (talk) 11:40, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
