Comments from WMF[edit]

Hello Abubakar A Gwanki, thanks for submitting this grant request. It is great to hear that you are planning to run an editathon in Kano to improve articles on Hausa Wikipedia. I have reviewed your application and have the following questions and comments:

  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the community feedback in advance. Could you please announce your project and grant on the relevant community pages of the target wikis (Hausa Wikipedia)? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
  • Are you requesting this grant on behalf of Hausa Wikimedians User Group?
  • You mentioned that there would be no in-person activities, but in your budget you have costs for the venue. Could you please explain this?
  • Please confirm that the produced banners and flyers will be shared under Creative Commons license and uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:13, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is the answers for your questions;

  • I have announced the project grant into our Hausa Wikimedians User Group Talk page and Hausa Wikipedia Talk page. I've also announced it on our WhatsApp Group and it reached many members.
  • This project is individual not on behalf of Hausa Wikimedian User Group.
  • I Plan to hold in person event and venue would be rent for the editathon, I've already explained it on a grant page.
  • All banners and flyers will be shared under Creative Commons license and will be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.

Thank you, best regards. - Abubakar A Gwanki (talk) 22:15, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
