Hi Anasskoko, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant request. We are excited about the photowaks you are planning to run in different states of Nigeria. I have some questions after reviewing the application:

  • Do you have a list of objects and monuments that you plan to photograph during your events? How will you find out what objects to photograph?
  • Who will be the participants of the photowalks? Do you plan to invite locals to take part in these activities? Will you invite everyone or only those who have experience in photography?
  • Do you have any past experience in organizing photowalks?
  • When and where do you plan to run the training?
  • The Risk assessment tool you shared is not accessible to us. Please change the sharing options, so that it is accessible to everyone with the link.

Budget:

  • Hall - could you please explain why the hall costs are high? Is this the costs for 4 venue rentals?
  • Graphics design images - I think that having 10 images for promotional purposes is too much. Please reduce this number by half.
  • Transportation - will this expense cover the transportation costs of the organizers only?

Hi DSaroyan (WMF), thank you for question, the answers are as follow:
  • Yes we do have a list of the objects and monuments that we are planning to photograph during the events, we will reach out the objects to photograph by visiting them one after the other, some requires vehicle transportation, while some do not.
  • Most of the ones that will participate in this photo walks are Wikimedia users. Yes locals will be invited to take part in this activities? for the locals, only experience ones, for the Wikimedia users only interested ones.
  • Yes I do have past experience in organizing photo walks.
  • The training will be run base on a date suitable for whole event; that is before the commencement of the entire photo walk, the training will take place in a Hall in Kaduna State of Nigeria.
  • Now the Risk assessment tool is accessible, I also shared it with you.
Budget:
  • Hall - The hall cost is high due to tax increment in the state by state government to every commercial building, also they are the ones to provide handsanitiser, Handwash and medications as precaution against Covid-19, you can see I did not make a budget for medication, that's the reason behind the cost.
  • Graphics design images - Amount reduced to half as requested.
  • Transportation - is for organizers and participants, making it the number of 13 people in each walk we are taking in every state.
