Thanks for this request, User:Heathart! We saw you listed 100 expected participants overall. Can you tell us how many people you expect to have at each event? This will help us understand your request for $150 for food and beverages per event. Thank you! Winifred Olliff (WMF Program Officer) talk 00:40, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Winifred Olliff (WMF Program Officer). The events range in expected attendees. I believe the ones we are hosting at universities will have around 30 participants while the one at the Toronto gallery may have only 15. I guess I'm nervous if i'm wrong and only 10 people show up to the gallery, I was probably underestimating to be safe... I suppose the 100 expected is too few... is it too late to change it? I think we will likely net around 180 expected participants overall to be more realistic, an average of 20 per event. I'm happy to reduce the $150 per event as well if that is too much, I got that average from another successful grant app example. Thanks for the note!--Heathart (talk) 16:45, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Heathart. Based on those numbers, food costs definitely fall in the range of what we typically fund, and that's what I needed to know. You are free to adjust the goals in your grant proposal if you would like to. We appreciate this opportunity to support your project. You certainly have some strong community endorsements, and a good plan for structuring these edit-a-thons and staying in touch with participants. It is clear that you have the expertise and experience to make these events a success, and we are grateful for your work in this area. This grant is approved, and Morgan will be in touch to help you arrange the details. Best, Winifred Olliff (WMF Program Officer) talk 17:03, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
