Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Enhance the ProveIt gadget, part 2/Report

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hi, Sophivorus, thank you for submitting this thoughtful report and for all your time spent on making the ProveIt gadget better. I have the following comments:

  • Congratulations on the successful outcome! While also being a user of ProveIt, I’m pleased to hear that now it works with the new wikitext editor and has got a set of improvements.
  • I’m also happy that you made the gadget more user-friendly and easier to enable on other wikis. Furthermore, thank you for sharing your learnings with WMF and the community.
  • Given that the second phase of enhancements is over, would you please share your thoughts on how you would upgrade and improve this gadget in the future?

Thank you again for such a useful gadget! I have accepted your final report and expense documentation. You grant is now complete! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 06:16, 19 December 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@DSaroyan (WMF): I'm glad you found the report satisfactory and the gadget useful! To answer your question, I've updated the ProveIt workboard with all the ideas I currently have for improving the gadget. However, in my opinion, most of them are too difficult for too little benefit, so I'd rather wait until a new idea or opportunity appears that is really worth the effort. In the meantime, I'd like to mention a very different rapid grant I'm requesting for developing and boosting a feature with a lot of potential. You can find it at Grants:Project/Rapid/Sophivorus/Excerpts. It has already received some initial support, can I ask you to check it out? Thanks!
