Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Modjou/Wiktionary edit-a-thons/Report

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hello Modjou thank you for submitting your final report. I really enjoyed reading your report. I especially was interested to see that:

  • You created a form to gather information from potential participants and selected from amongst those who showed interest. I haven't seen this process amongst other grantees but was excited to see this approach to increase retention.
  • It was also great to read that you paired up participants so that those fluent in Baoule were able to help those who were not.
  • Lastly, even though I understand providing prizes for everyone encourages all participants it is not something we support through our grants program. Just wanted to caution against that for future projects.

I am accepting your final report and expense documentation. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 22:39, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi WJifar (WMF),
Thank you for your comments, I took note. As for the term "prizes" that I use here, I think it was a translation error that I made. We did not give a prize considering that this editathon was not a contest. We handed only souvenirs or gadgets to the different participants. Do you think it will be a problem in the future?--Modjou (talk) 13:34, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
