Report Accepted[edit]

Hello, Joy Agyepong, Open Foundation West Africa; thank you for submitting this grant report and for all your work on this initiative. I have the following questions for you:

  1. In future gender-related initiatives, what steps will you take to address the challenges around notability?
  2. You mentioned the need for clearer communications on entrance fees. Did you have an entrance fee for these editathons? We understand that Goethe Institut's venue and the WMF support for catering and different costs would mean that participants would not have to pay to do so. I would appreciate further clarification.

I have reviewed and accepted your expense documentation and this final report; with this, your grant has been successfully completed. Thank you for all your work for the Wiki movement, MMontes (WMF) (talk) 21:40, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @MMontes (WMF) Thank you for accepting our report. However, please find answers to your questions below;

  1. In future related events, in order for us to have good coverage of these notable women it has been agreed that we try to get partnership with the organisers to send us invites whenever these persons are present at an event.
  2. About the entrance fees we meant usually events that are likely to host notable women have huge gate fees for participants before permitted to attend. Organisers for these events are not interested in our goal, they are particularly interested in all attendees paying and this is a problem since many of these events are not free. It results in deterring us from participating since multiple events if paid and attended by the team will result in taking at most half of the grant requested and may affect other demands.
