Hello Oby Ezeilo, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant request. I have reviewed it and have a few questions.

  • How many of the core messages of MediaWiki are untranslated in Igbo? Will the translation of the 500 most important messages be sufficient to move your language project from Incubator?
  • Please add the total budget in your local currency to the probox.
  • Are you a member of Igbo Wikimedians User Group or applying on behalf of the User Group?
  • Are other leaders or experienced editors involved in this project members of Igbo Wikimedians User Group?
  • Are the participants of your project going to be mostly from Igbo Wikimedians User Group?

Hello DSaroyan (WMF), Here are my answers to your questions.

  • I really cannot tell how many of the core messages of Mediawiki are untranslated in Igbo. For the 500 translated messages being sufficient i cannot tell its left for the Wikimedia Foundation to decide.
  • My mistake sorry. i have added the total budget in my local currency.
  • Yes i am a of the Igbo Wikimedia User Group however i am not applying on behalf of the user group
  • One of the leaders is a member of the User group while others who will participate in the project are not members of the Igbo User Group.
  • No. Participants of the project are not going to be mostly from the Igbo User Group.

Ineligible for funding[edit]

Hello Oby Ezeilo, I marked this request as ineligible for funding since by the time I approve Wikipedia Igbo Men and Women Edit-a-thon, Anambra hub. proposal, the Igbo Wikimedians User Group will have three open grants. Per Rapid Grant eligibility criteria a user group is only allowed to have up to three open Rapid Grants at any one time.
