Comments from DSaroyan (WMF)[edit]

Hello Yemi festus, thank you for submitting this final report and for running the planned photowalks in Lagos and Southwest Nigeria. I have reviewed the report and have a few comments and questions:

  • First of all, I’m really sorry to hear that some people have assaulted you during the walks and your two photo cameras have been stolen. Did you call the police or ask for help? How did you reimburse the costs of photo cameras?
  • The category link you provided includes lots of other photos too. Could you please provide a link to all photos from these photowalks? Why didn’t you use a separate category dedicated to your photowalks only?
  • I also don’t think that the categorization of your photos has been made correctly.  Some images of buildings and people have been categorized as “Sculptures in Nigeria”. Are you planning to fix these categories in the future?
  • One of your initial targets was to improve 220 Wikidata items. Could you please provide more information about this target? Did you achieve this? If so, please provide a link to all or some Wikidata items that have been improved.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 13:30, 12 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Response from Yemi festus[edit]

Hi DSaroyan (WMF), Please find my response to your comments:

  • Thank you for your empathy. I asked for help from passers-by even though it was too late. It was an experience I would like to forget. As for the two cameras, I am yet to reimburse the cost completely but the lender understands my plight and I signed an MOU to reimburse by installment which I have been keeping to.
  • I'm sorry for mixing this, it was an oversight from my end. I reasoned that this should be in the same category. I am adding them to this
  • Yes, I am already fixing this. See
  • I was unable to achieve this target. Being my first grant and coupled with the circumstances that I faced, I think the target I set for the project was too high and it was a learning process for me.--Yemi festus (talk) 12:33, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
