Hello Agryfp, thanks again for submitting this Rapid Grant request. We have reviewed your grant application and have some questions that we'd like to respond to:

  • The responsibilities of Wikimedian in Residence(s) are not clear. Could you please provide more details about their responsibilities? Will they be involved only in podcast creation? If yes, why do you request 6 different residencies?
  • Who will be the Wikimedia in Residence(s)? Please provide their Wikimedia usernames. With which cultural organization do you plan to collaborate?
  • Who are the referred experienced Wikimedians and how will they be engaged in podcast production and content creation?
  • What will be the main topics for podcasts? How will these podcasts explore connections between open content and cultural organisations?
  • What is your plan for editing/uploading content on Wikidata, English and Finnish Wikipedias, and Wikimedia Commons?
  • All the budget is for compensation. Will these be received by the same person? How many people will be involved in the project?

What is the promotional plan for these podcasts? How do you intend to reach your targeted audiences (that is, expert audiences in media culture, and Wikimedians interested in this work), how will this be evaluated? Hei DSaroyan (WMF), We are reaching the end of the process with this project. However, the podcast production process started much later than planned, in October 2022. One last recording is being prepared at this end of year still. Our original date for reporting was 07.1.2023. I request that we can make an extension on reporting this project until the end of February 2023, so that 3 of the Wikimedians-in-residence can gather at the beginning of February in person, and make report together in presence. Finishing of 2022 process[edit]

Greetings DSaroyan (WMF) et al, our Pixelache Wikimedians-in-residence process supported with rapid grant in 2022 is coming to a close. Our reporting process is a bit delayed however for another week unfortunately as we update the different project representations online.

There is now thanks to Zblace a meta.wikimedia page for the project here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedians-in-residence_at_Pixelache

Our 3 podcast conversations were uploaded to Wikimedia Commons by Smirkybecon 27.2.2023 to [1]https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikimedians-in-residence_at_Pixelache. We will also upload the same files to Pixelache's Soundcloud account so that listeners can add comments & feedback.

Furthermore, it was part of the reporting & completing plan to make a press release and updated project page [2]http://pixelache.ac/projects/wikimedians-in-residence in 3 languages, including Finnish and Sámi by Yupik along with English.

This outcome will allow us communicate the project in the local Finnish Wikimedia/data community and Avoin/Open GLAM community.

Apologies that this reporting process has taken longer than planned, however our own Pixelache Newsletter publicity of the Wikimedians project was sidelined a bit by early Summer production of this years Festival.
