Hi Psalmbusy, thank you for submitting your grant application. After reviewing your grant proposal, we have some questions to learn more about the project and planned activities.

  • We think that the proposal is clear and speaks to value the project presents towards closing specific knowledge gaps.
  • How will you assure the content quality? What is your strategy of getting unique photos?
  • Aside from posting a notification on the talk page of Wikimedia Nigeria UG and sharing the project in the team, have you shared it with other relevant community members in Nigeria? Could you please share it with other communities for feedback?
  • Please share the rational behind the transportation expenses and provide a detailed breakdown.

Hi DSaroyan (WMF) and thank you for the questions, see my answers below:
  • Thank you for seeing the project impact and how it closes knowledge gap especially in a multi culturally dynamic country like Nigeria
  • For content quality, I will ensure I use the best of camera equipment such as Black Magic; as a content creator, i have knowledge about the right equipment so will be brining my wealth of experience to see this happen. Thee are over 500 food in the south south, Nigeria so I will always ensure they are individually documented and separated by ensuring I document them distinctly.
  • Yes, I shared with some communities member of the Nigeria community and they gave go ahead due to the huge gap it is targeted to cover.
  • The transportation expenses is a subsidized average amount for transportation to the 6 southern states and local transport. If to go by flight, the average fee to pay from one state to another for two persons is $450 according to flight booking website here and that will cumulate to about $2700 and not even adding local transport for the whole trip. So instead we are hiring a vehicle with a driver that will take us through the whole state and back and other local transport with a cost of $200 (for 2persons) for each of the 6 states so totaling $1200. So that's how we arrived at that.
